Twitter is a news/social media website that allows people to post pictures videos and simple messages in 280 characters. Twitter is used to connect people that have the same interests with hashtags. Twitter was created by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams and was launched in July 2006. The social service gained popularity in 2012 and had over 100 million users. The service currently has 319 million active users. Twitter is currently worth over 4 billion and includes subsidiaries such as Vine and Periscope.
